Psalm 95 v 1- 5 (NLT): ‘Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.'

Isaiah 42 v1-4 (NIV): “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.

Sunday October 27th 2024 marks the 57th anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act in the UK, when we will pause to pray for unborn children, and for support and practical help for women with unplanned pregnancy.

People can pray either individually, as part of a local church group, or by joining our evening Zoom call.

We would like to encourage fellow followers of Jesus to join together in prayer as we remind ourselves of God’s greatness and intercede for the most vulnerable in our society.

We know God’s heart is moved with compassion for the vulnerable in society, and as His church we are called to speak and act with compassion as we stand up for His justice.
We know abortion hurts. In addition to the lives lost each year, a number of testimonies from women who have been through abortion tell of pain, regret, shame, and unforgiveness.
We want to pray for God’s compassion to be shown to all those affected by this issue - women with unplanned pregnancy, women who have gone through abortion, the unborn children themselves, and husbands, partners, family & friends of those affected.

About us: the National Day of Prayer for life is organised & hosted by volunteers from churches around the UK
